Peer Scaffolding During EFL Reading Activities: A Sociocultural Perspective

The purpose of this study was to identify the types peer scaffolding used by Thai EFL students while completing reading activities. Pre-test, post-test and test procedures were implemented measure impact on students’ comprehension. checklist employed in classroom. This found that gained higher mean scores after engaging activities along with strategies. beginner elementary mostly procedural assistance, whereas intermediate frequently sharing questing as scaffolding. These findings may provide sociocultural theoretical pedagogical implications for teachers when supporting assisting develop comprehension.
